Hard Work Does Pay Off

For all those who don't know who I am, my name is Sawyer Nestlerode. I am from a small town in Colorado called Eagle. I am 13 years old and go to Saint Clare of Assisi Parish School in Edwards, CO. I have a brother named Riley and a sister named Gracie. I love playing lacrosse and wrestling also i love to be in the outdoors hunting and fishing.

I have recently applied to go on a trip to Tanzania and have been accepted. I was accepted by Children's Global Alliance which is a non-profit organization out of Vail,CO.  Being accepted was one of the most amazing thing that have ever happen to me in my life. I remember waiting all day to get the call, and finally at around 9:30 pm when I was about to fall asleep my dad opens my door and he said "it's for you." When I had picked up the phone I was shaking and she said to me "Sawyer guess what?" and she told me "Your going to Tanzania!" and I was just so excited to hear that and I know I will always remember those words. After she had called I was just blown out of mind to be able to know I am going to experience something amazing. The trip I am going on is the first trip of Tanzania in Arusha, Tanzania and I knew it was going to be very tough to make it, but I knew I had to do my best. After writing the essay which asked me questions like what is a quote that describes you and where do you want to go and why. Also going to the interview I didn't know what to expect like the question they would ask or what they would make me do and i didn't know if I would make it or not for going up against about 150 other kids, but my work did pay off. Now I am just counting the days off until I am able to go and everyday is getting better knowing I am going to go to Tanzania.
